Computer parts are relatively small in the grand scheme of life, and they're constantly shrinking. However, nanotechnology is poised to take over the design of computers in the future, making them so cool, technologically advanced, and perhaps almost invisible to the naked eye in some instances. There are already many applications for the use of nanotechnology in everyday items, but computers are still being investigated and tweaked. The older your computer is, the bigger your inner working parts will be. However, as things progress, nanotechnology is poised to create a CPU for your computer that could give you more power in a tiny size, allowing your computer to run faster, smarter, and take up less space than ever before.

Nanotechnology is already being studied for the development of computers. A nanometer is one-billionth of a meter, and anything under 100 nanometers or smaller is considered nanotechnology. If you want an idea of how big a nanometer really is, check this out: a human hair is about 100,000 nanometers wide. If nanotechnology does what it intends, it will only be a matter of time before computers are so small that they can be taken anywhere. 

Electronic computers, complete with microscopic CPUs, are being build through a process called nanolithography. This is basically the process of creating microscopic circuits and wiring much like a typical computer that you would see today, but on a much, much smaller scale. Electronic devices like computers will continue to become smaller and more powerful with the use of nanotechnology, creating a way eventually to integrate computers into everyday life, including almost every different aspect of daily lifestyles. In the future, computers will be everywhere, but they won't be noticed in most cases because they are so microscopic and integrated into whatever they are used for. 

Imagine a day when computers are as small as a tiny chip, and they can be put into everything from clothing and appliances to even the human body, allowing for a world with pervasive computing. This basically means the integration of technology into all areas of life. Nano particles with specific properties can be incorporated to produce these properties. Using mateials proven safe by the FDA are being tested at the present time. The future holds great promise for new products in this arena.

In formulating work thus far, nano epoxy floor coatings exhibit a much improved flow characteristic. Ease of application is therefore a distinct advantage. The labor used to apply nano epoxy floor coatings is reduced from the improved ease of application feature.

However, the single most important feature of the nano epoxy is abrasion resistance compared to existing epoxy floor coatings. At first, the scratch resistance in the initial stages of cure is apparent and becomes more so after the stage of final cure.

"The Nano Graphene Platelets (NGP) material discovered in 2004 has been studied for a number of years. It has many of the same characteristics as Carbon Nano Tubes (CNT) and other carbon particles; NGPs overall performance equals or exceeds most application performances when compared with any other Nano particles. According to some studies, composites when infused with NGP are stiffer and less prone to failure than composites infused with carbon nano tubes or other nanoparticles. These gains are in the area of 1 order of magnitude.

When added to polymers, NGPs mechanical strength exceeds that of Carbon Nano Tubes (CNT). NGP and CNT can have similar functionalization or surface treatments to improve mechanical bonding and electrical characteristics. NGPs superior shape (grid like or fence shape) gives a better mechanical attachment than the CNT tubular shape, this unique shape gives NGP significantly higher strength, puncture and crack resistances, as well as excellent permeability barrier properties. These improved properties can be seen in a host of different materials. 

Super capacitors can perform better when made with NGP. NGP based nanocomposite materials exhibit high levels of capacitance and electrical conductivity as well as demonstrating chemical stability and low mass density. The conductive film is superior because of the unique molecular shape of the particles, which can store more electrons than other known materials.

When adding 1% to 2 % NGP by volume to aluminum the electrical conductivity and strength are improved significantly.
